Petrobras announced this Monday an average reduction of 8.1% in the price of natural gas sold to distributors from May 1st.
The adjustment is part of the quarterly update provided for in contracts with distributors and reflects variations in the price of fuel, linked to fluctuations in Brent oil and the exchange rate, and transport via pipelines.

According to Petrobras, in the reference quarter, oil fell by around 8.7% and the exchange rate appreciated by approximately 1.1%.
The portion of the price related to gas transportation is updated annually in May, linked to the IGP-M variation, and will be updated by approximately 0.2% from May 2023.
With this update, the price of natural gas sold by Petrobras to distributors will accumulate a reduction of approximately 19% in the year, said the state-owned company.
