Since the Russian invasion of Ukrainian territory, several countries, especially those in Europe, have begun to rethink their energy matrix. In the case of the old continent, the high dependence on gas from Russia raised a warning about the dangers of being linked mainly to a single source, whose geopolitical conflicts could greatly affect the supply of important global economies, such as Germany. This context of war associated with the impacts caused by the Covid-19 pandemic caused the prices of energy commodities to skyrocket around the world. Because of this, alternative energy sources, especially more sustainable ones, have come to the fore. And Brazil has a lot to contribute with its know-how, such as RonovaBio, which has reduced the country's dependence on fossil fuels. “Brazil is already at a very advanced level of replacing fossil fuels”, highlighted Plinio Natari. “We have to discuss reducing emissions with job creation and governance, which means certification, and RenovaBio is a good example, it guarantees the end consumer that the process follows reliable international criteria”, highlighted the president of DATAGRO. Ansgar Pinkowski highlighted the use of green hydrogen. “We have the possibility of generating many subsidies based on hydrogen.” All Brazilian knowledge regarding ethanol is being applied in India, an important global player in the sugar sector, which is now allocating part of its sugarcane production to the manufacture of biofuel. “The Indians are technically very advanced”, pondered André Correa. “We are convinced that we are on the right path,” he added. Roberto Jaguaribe spoke about the change in Europe's energy matrix since the Russian invasion of Ukrainian territory on February 24. “Germany depended on 55% of Russian gas in its market, now it is in the 35% range. It is an effort that will bring many challenges and many opportunities.” The Brazilian ambassador to Germany emphasized the sustainable characteristic of the Brazilian energy matrix. “Brazil is naturally one of the most sustainable countries in the world. Today we have an energy matrix that Europeans aspire to achieve in just 15 years.”
