National production of the second corn harvest is expected to be above initial expectations, and could be a record. According to Cepea researchers, this scenario has kept buyers away from the Brazilian spot, keeping cereal prices falling. Between March 31st and April 8th, the ESALQ/BM&FBovespa Indicator (Campinas – SP) fell 4.37%, closing at R$ 89.02/sc of 60 kg on Friday, 8th.

According to data from Cepea's informative bulletin, many consumers in São Paulo indicate that they have comfortable stocks for the short term. According to data released by Conab on Thursday, 7th, the second Brazilian 2021/22 corn harvest is estimated at 88.53 million tons, which, if confirmed, will be a record and 45.8% greater than that of the 2020 season /21.
The increase is related to the increase in area and the favorable climate so far.
