On the last day of her visit to Iran, Tereza Cristina said that many Iranian products could be well accepted by Brazilians, such as preserves, fruits and olive oil. “We need to know each other better, we need Iranian businesspeople to go to Brazil to present their products, especially at agricultural fairs,” he said.
She also celebrated the possibility of expanding the export of Iranian urea to Brazil, announced yesterday. “I’m very happy to hear about this potential, this is very important for Brazilian agriculture.”
The two ministers committed to supporting the attraction of investments, joint ventures and the implementation of agricultural projects by companies from both countries. The sharing and exchange of experiences in knowledge and scientific and technological achievements between the two countries is also planned.

“The ministers reinforced the complementarity of the bilateral agricultural trade relationship and discussed possibilities to expand purchases of products already sold, such as exports of urea by Iran and grains and proteins by Brazil”, explained the Assistant Secretary of Commerce and International Relations of Mapa, Jean Marcel Fernandes.
The Iranian minister highlighted that Brazil is known worldwide as a great agricultural power and said that Tereza Cristina's visit to the country is the first step towards maturing this relationship. Later this year, the next meeting of the bilateral Agricultural Consultative Committee between the two countries is scheduled to take place.
This Saturday, representatives of Brazilian and Iranian companies also signed an agreement of intentions for the offset trade (barter trade) of 400 thousand tons of urea for the equivalent in corn and soybeans, through barter trade.
