Infinity Energy is a private Canadian energy technology company owned by members of the Aboriginal community. In its mission statement, the company claims to be aligned with the three pillars of Alberta's economy: energy, agriculture and tourism.
The company has contracts in place to supply more than five million tonnes of canola per year. In addition, it has contracts for the supply of Biojet biodiesel fuel for 1 million barrels (160 thousand cubic meters) per year. Under the terms of the agreement, XFuels will purchase oilseeds from Infinity Energy to produce biodiesel, just as Infinity Energy will market the biofuel produced by Xfuels.
XFuels announced in early August the start of biodiesel production at its Bieseker plant, located 70 kilometers northeast of the city of Calgary, in the province of Alberta. As informed by the company, they will install a continuous 50 barrels (700 kg) per hour plant on site, expandable to 100 barrels (1,400 kg) per hour.
In late June, the Canadian government launched a $ 1.5 billion CDN Fund, equivalent to $ 1.2 billion, to increase biofuel production capacity in Canada, in an attempt to accelerate the transition to a neutral economy. carbon.
