The prices of milk and dairy products have appreciated in recent months, as a result of weak supply and heated consumption. Emergency Aid gave impetus to the consumption of the neediest families. Working from home increased the domestic consumption of derivatives, including those used in cooking such as cream, cottage cheese, condensed milk, among others. The fact is that prices have risen across the board, says Embrapa.
Everyone in the industry is happy and worried at the same time. The producer is happy with the appreciation of the milk, the cull cow and the calf. But concerned about the increase in production costs. Corn and soybean meal have seen significant appreciation since the beginning of the year. Dairy companies are happy with the increase in sales volume, low stocks and margins within historical standards for some products (Powder and UHT) and above it for others (mozzarella). But they are also concerned about the rise in the price of milk, their main raw material. The appreciation of Spot was also surprising, with an increase of 74% over February.
But the moment is positive and should be taken advantage of by all productive agents. Milk supply remains limited, with low domestic production volume, supporting higher prices. Thus, the Conseleites indicated a new increase for the producer for September, ranging from 3.2% in Minas Gerais to 8.7% in Santa Catarina.
