Cotton price drops in MT in the last week – Imea

Porto Alegre, December 15, 2020 – The Imea-MT indicator fell 3.45% in the last week, being quoted at an average price of R$ 122.97/@, due to the devaluation of the dollar.

Prices on the NY Stock Exchange (ICE) increased by 1.85% and 1.00% for the Jul/21 and Dec/21 contracts, at ¢US$ 74.70/lb and ¢US$ 71.83/lb, respectively.

Due to the expectation of maintaining the basic interest rate at 2% of the year, the US currency fell again in the last week, reaching an average of R$ 5.11/US$.

Cotton by-products in Mato Grosso increased last week, with variations of 1.78%, 3.67% and 4.92%, for seeds, cake and oil, quoted at R$ 1,236.93/t, R$ 1,301.14/t and R$ 5,468.78/t, respectively.
