The collegiate board of the National Agency for Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP), today approved a reduction in the percentage of mandatory blending of biodiesel in diesel oil from the current 12% to 10% from June 16th to 21st. The objective is to guarantee supply during the period.
The measure was adopted with the consent of the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME), since there is a prospect that biodiesel deliveries planned for the period may not be sufficient to meet the 12% blend in diesel B, whose demand is above than expected even with the pandemic.
In the L72 auction, which is serving the market until the end of this month, the volume of biodiesel purchased by Petrobras reached 1.02 billion liters, below the auction for the previous two months (March and April) because the perspective, at the time, was of a greater retraction in the consumer market due to the pandemic.
In the last auction held, L73, to supply the market in July and August, the auction volume grew and reached 1.19 billion liters, the largest ever sold in a bimonthly auction.
