China has taken measures to strengthen quality control over exports of medical supplies, receiving support from home and abroad, the director of the foreign trade department of the Ministry of Commerce, Li Xingqian, announced this Sunday (27), according to the agency “ Xinhua.”
The ministry has been working with other government departments to crack down on exports of counterfeit and poor-quality products and other behaviors that disrupt market and export order, he said at a press conference.
As of Saturday (25), 74 countries and regions and six international organizations had signed contracts with China to purchase 192 batches of medical supplies, valued at US$ 1.41 billion.
Chinese exports of epidemic prevention supplies have increased significantly in recent months. Customs data showed that the value of these exports reached 55 billion yuan (US$ 7.77 billion) as of last month.
The Chinese government has always provided assistance to the international community in various ways to combat the coronavirus epidemic, Li said, promising more efforts to ensure the quality of exports of epidemic prevention materials.
