GASC paid US $ 1.57/mt less for 350,000 mt purchased on Tuesday, when French wheat was aggressively offered and reserved for the first time since February this year, market sources told Agricensus.
GASC paid an average price of US $ 216.27/mt CFR Egypt for wheat for delivery between October 1-10, compared to US $ 217.84/mt paid for the 295 thousand tonnes recorded two weeks ago, which were delivered in second half of September.
French wheat was the main eye-catcher, with its source price almost US $ 5/t cheaper than the second most competitive cargo of US $ 193.6/mt FOB La Pallice sold by Glencore. It was also the most competitive cargo in one destination at US $ 215.09/mt, despite the more expensive freight.
LDC sold the only Ukrainian cargo at a price of US $ 216.6/mt with a freight cost of US $ 18.25/mt in Odesa.
The remaining four cargoes, in a combined volume of 230,000 tm, were of Russian origin, with three sold by Posco Daewoo at an origination price of US $199.4/mt, with two cargoes to be loaded in Novorossiysk and one in Tuapse.
The room was sold my Garant Logistik to be loaded in Novorossiysk at the same original price.
Freight differed for each load, with the 55,000 ton loads carrying an average freight of US $ 17.56/mt, while the 60,000 ton loads carried a freight of US $ 16.66/mt.
