According to data released by the Center for Advanced Studies in Applied Economics (Cepea) in July (15 working days), the pace of fresh chicken meat shipments decreased; however, the final performance of exporters may be favored by the appreciation of Brazilian products on the international market and by the greater number of working days this month – July has 23 working days, and June had 19.
According to data from Secex (Secretariat of Foreign Trade), the daily average of shipments in July is 17 thousand tons, a reduction of 10% compared to the previous month, when it was 18.8 thousand tons. At this rate, Brazil exported 255.6 thousand tons in 15 working days, generating revenue of US$ 433.7 million.
As for prices, throughout July, chicken meat prices fell, due to lower liquidity, as school holidays and lower temperatures reduce demand. Furthermore, the decline in consumption, typical at the end of the month, has also influenced the downward movement in prices.
