The Production Cost Index for high-technology beef cattle raised in July by 0.4% compared to June.
There was a drop in the prices of concentrated foods, especially soybean meal. However, mineral supplements, fertilizers, pesticides and health products saw an increase in prices, which weighed on the indicator.
In the annual comparison, the index is 3.3% higher this year.
For the short term, the need for animal supplementation, due to the deficit in pastures, together with greater movement for corn shipments in this second half of the year and leaner stocks for bran, could weigh on input prices and consequently on costs. of the activity.
