At the close of last Tuesday (25/6) the market remained firm. Some industries that were out of purchases on Monday (6/24) put upward pressure on prices in some regions.
According to a survey by Scot Consultoria, in São Paulo, for example, prices rose 0.6% in a day-to-day comparison and the arroba was quoted at R$156.50 in installments, free of Funrural.
The availability of cattle is reduced, which limits the amount of business. In the state, slaughter schedules last four/five days.
In Western Bahia, the São João holiday (24/6) shortened the week, as a result, industries opened purchase offers with prices above the reference. In the region, the increase was R$2.00/@ compared to the previous close.
As the turn of the month approaches, the need to build stocks to meet demand at the beginning of next month may sustain market firmness in the last week of June.
