Petrobras announced a 4.6% reduction in the price of diesel sold at refineries. With the change, the average price per liter goes from R$ 2.1664 to R$ 2.0664. The state-owned company took the opportunity to announce a new policy on price adjustments for both diesel and gasoline.
From now on, the state-owned company's executive board said that adjustments will be made at defined intervals, in accordance with market conditions and analysis of the external environment, enabling the company to compete in a more efficient and flexible manner.
“The immediate implementation of this review will allow Petrobras to, for the time being, reduce diesel prices in line with the variations in international prices observed in recent days,” Petrobras highlighted in a statement.
Even with the changes, the state-owned company informs that the principles that guide the practice of competitive prices will be maintained, such as international parity price (PPI), margins for remuneration of risks inherent to the operation, level of market participation and protection mechanisms via derivatives.
