The demand for tallow is gradually decreasing and, as a result, the downward trend has gained strength in recent weeks. However, there are still deals occurring even above the benchmark. Even if occasional, these have limited devaluations.
In Central Brazil, tallow is quoted, on average, at R$2.40/kg, tax free. Despite the drop of 4.0% compared to the beginning of the month, the price increased by 6.7% in the annual comparison. In Rio Grande do Sul, the product is quoted at R$2.60/kg, under the same conditions. For the short term, the expectation is that supply greater than demand will maintain downward pressure.
