The current situation in the cattle market increases the interest of breeders and winterers in replacing their herds. With greater demand for business, prices are gaining firmness in the replacement market and this is the third week in a row that the market has shown positive variations.
In the weekly balance, on average across all categories of ringed males and females surveyed by Scot Consultoria, prices registered an increase of 1.2%. Highlight for the ringed male weaning calf (6@), with an increase of 1.9% compared to last week's survey.
The exchange ratio is more attractive for the breeder and winterer, given that the valuations for the arroba of live cattle are higher compared to those on the replacement market. Currently, 7.2 arrobas of fat cattle are needed to purchase a weaned calf. A year ago, 7.9 arrobas were needed for this operation, that is, an improvement of 9.3% in the recreator's purchasing power.
