BASF technologies in rust protection products are highlighted in the Maximum Soy Productivity Challenge promoted by CESB
Combating Asian Rust requires a combination of technology and intelligent management actions. With a broad portfolio to protect soybean cultivation, BASF is alongside farmers building solid work against the disease. Thus, it contributes to obtaining excellent productivity results, such as those of Elton Zanella, from the municipality of Campos de Júlio/MT, two-time champion of the Central-West region of the CESB award.

In the producer's opinion, the mark of 122.20 bags per hectare is the result of an integrated set of factors that include everything from quality products to a partnership that helps in decision-making, adding efficiency to rust management. Among the technologies applied in the management of Zanella were the fungicides Orkestra®SC and Ativum®, developed by BASF.
In addition to choosing the right pesticide, correct crop management is essential for high productivity results. Therefore, pay attention to some tips for efficient management:
1- Apply fungicides preventively.
2- Respect the interval between recommended applications and doses.
3- Associate multisites with fungicides with a specific mode of action.
4- Rotate fungicides using available chemical groups such as triazoles, strobilurins, carboxamides, morpholines and multisites.
5- Make a maximum of two applications of carboxamide throughout the cycle.
6- Prioritize early cycle varieties and do not plant second-season soybeans.
7- Rotate crops.
8- Prioritize sowing at times less conducive to the development of the disease
9- Use efficient application technologies.
10- Prioritize varieties with greater genetic tolerance
11- Respect the “sanitary void”.
For the next harvest, BASF will present new features that will complement its soybean portfolio.
