The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) released this Friday (9) another reestimate for the 2016/17 orange harvest in Florida. Production was estimated at 68.5 million boxes, which represents an increase of 500 thousand boxes, 1% higher than the last projection.
Of this total, 33 million boxes are of early, mid-season and Baia varieties (the estimate for which has not changed compared to the previous one and the harvest is already over) and 35.5 million boxes of the Valencia variety.
The next harvest estimate will be released on July 12th.
