Last Friday (06/09), Emater/RS-Ascar promoted a Field Day on More Appropriate Treatments for the Burgundy Grape Variety and its Derivatives and on Sprayer Regulation, in the Edith Line Community Hall, in Saint Mark. Around 55 farmers participated in the activity, in addition to the municipal mayor, Secretary of Agriculture and president of the Rural Workers Union.
In the morning, the agronomist from Emater/RS-Ascar, Enio Todeschini, discussed treatments for burgundy grapes, including the chemical group, mode of action and active ingredient of the main fungicides used by producers in the region, highlighting the most suitable for the Bordô variety, in order to avoid harm to this variety, which is very sensitive to the use of sulfur.
During the afternoon, sprayer adjustment practice was carried out, explaining the types of nozzles, cleaning them and the filters and adjusting the pressure on the manometer, in addition to demonstrating how to calculate the speed and volume of spray applied per hectare. The issue relating to the storage of pesticides on the property was also discussed.
