The 5th edition of the Post-Harvest Technology in Fruits and Vegetables course, which will be held from August 28th to September 1st, at Embrapa Instrumentação (São Carlos – SP), is now open for registration. With limited places, interested parties should access the address

The course is dedicated to producers, wholesalers, retailers, technicians, students, researchers and post-harvest specialists who wish to learn about solutions developed by Embrapa and its partners, through theoretical and practical modules, technical visits and demonstration of licensed technologies for companies of the sector.
According to researcher Marcos David, responsible for organizing the event, the objective of the course is to incorporate technologies to improve processes, increase system efficiency and reduce losses in the production chain, expanding the collaboration of science in the market.
This year's course offers several new features. Among them are the launch of a book on the subject; a lecture by professor from the Department of Horticulture Science at the University of Florida, Steven A. Sargent and a case study on São Paulo's citrus industry to be presented by researcher Silvio Crestana – will address the challenges of fruit and vegetable production in the face of climate changes.
Another new feature will be the demonstration of the compact classifier, aimed at small producers. The equipment does not use water to clean tomatoes, other fruits and vegetables.
Registrants, in addition to the right to the book developed by the instructors in digital format, will have access to all theoretical and practical modules, support material and transportation for technical excursions to fruit processing units and the National Reference Laboratory for Agriculture.
