At the end of the week, egg producers suffered a further drop in prices, highlighting the imbalance between supply and demand in the market. With the new downturn – 2nd of the week and month, 13th of the year – the average daily price of a carton of white eggs fell to R$89.00, representing a drop of 5.3% in the last seven days. In any case, it still remains 11.2% above that practiced at the beginning of the month.
Red eggs, in turn, had an even greater drop and were sold for values ranging from R$8.00 to R$12.00 more per box compared to white eggs, representing a reduction of 11.2% in the last seven days. However, in relation to what was practiced at the beginning of the month, it reached an identical evolution to the whites, of 12.2%. According to Jox Assessoria Agropecuária, there are surpluses in all links that make up the negotiation chain, leaving the market weak. Given this, prices should remain under pressure.
