Ukraine’s grain exports for the 2024/25 season (July-June) amounted to about 14.7 million metric tons as of November 4. This compares with approximately 9.8 million tons in the same period last year. According to data from the Agriculture Ministry released on Monday, this represents a significant increase.
In addition, the exported volume included 7.9 million tons of wheat, 4.8 million tons of corn and 1.7 million tons of barley.
To ensure domestic supplies, the Ukrainian government and agricultural associations have agreed to limit wheat exports to 16.2 million tonnes in the 2024/25 season. This is expected to maintain sufficient supplies for the domestic market.
So far, traders have used 48.8% of the agreed wheat export quota. However, there are no restrictions on exports of other commodities.
According to the ministry, traders have exported 259,000 tonnes of grain so far in November. Last year, exports in the period from November 1 to 6 totalled 550,000 tonnes.
On the other hand, the combined 2024 grain and oilseed harvest is expected to fall to 77 million tonnes. Of this total, approximately 54 million tonnes are grains. This estimate was released by the ministry.
Finally, Ukraine’s grain exports in the 2023/24 marketing season showed an increase. The export volume amounted to about 51 million tons, up from 49.2 million tons recorded in the previous year.
