The merger between the companies Ihara and its shareholder Kumiai will take place on May 1st, as approved by the respective administrative councils. The companies already have a joint operation agreement, in a system in which agrochemicals developed by Ihara are sold by Kumiai.
The companies believe that the merger is “the best opportunity to beat the competition and maximize corporate value.” The integration aims to minimize costs and risks, through the unification of processes for obtaining active ingredients, formulation, development and sales.
With this consolidation of management resources, Kumiai and Ihara seek to streamline and optimize decision-making for “sustainable growth, as a characteristic R&D-oriented company, increasing business efficiency and reinforcing the management base”.
The merger could be very positive for South America, since one of the objectives of the union is to build new bases of operations in emerging countries with good growth potential.
