Expectations are the best possible for the more than 13 thousand Cocamar members, who plan to recover this year the losses accumulated due to the climate problems of 2016. “The producer should gain what he did not achieve last year”, estimates the president of the Cocamar, Divanir Higino, who is promoting the Safratec event in the municipality of Floresta (PR) until Friday (20.01).
“We closed 2016 with revenues of R$ 3.6 billion, but this performance was hampered by climate problems. Even so, the result was 8.5% above that recorded in 2015. But it could have been better, as we lost 700 thousand tons of grains, which reduced revenue by R$ 500 million. For 2017 we expect to receive more than 1.3 million tons of soybeans, 1.2 million tons of corn and around 100 thousand tons of wheat. We hope to earn R$ 4.3 billion, with the harvest progressing well”, projects Higino.
To achieve these major goals, Cocamar hopes that Safratec will bring “innovation” to the rural producer, showing what possibilities he has, to apply there at the tip, on his property, what he saw best in this large laboratory. open sky that is Safratec. It is a good agrochemical, a good fertilizer, a good seed or hybrid, but also technology in soil management and decompression, planting speed, pesticide applications and crop harvesting”.
According to the president of the Cooperative, the first harvest is going well. The region is characterized by prioritizing the winter harvest. “For the off-season, the producer is already prepared, he has already purchased his inputs, he made a better and cheaper purchase than the previous year. In 2016 it was frustrated, but Cocamar expects to receive more than one million tons of corn this season”, he concludes.
