In 24 hours, more than 146 thousand tons of soy were moved in the Eastern Export Corridor of the Port of Paranaguá. The record reached between the 20th and 21st of April represents an increase of 5% in relation to the previous one, recorded between the 29th and 30th of August 2019 (138,988.98 tons).
“Three berths handled more than 146 thousand tons of grains and soybean meal destined for China and Spain. The excellent movement in the operation of three ships allowed another historic record for Portos do Paraná. Luiz Fernando Garcia, CEO of Portos do Paraná, highlighted: “These numbers result from investments in port management of ports in Paraná”.
The public company is four-time champion in best port management in Brazil, according to the federal government. The ports of Paranaguá and Antonina achieved the highest score in the Port Authority Management Index (IGAP) in the main category among Brazilian public ports.
The total movement also brought important results for the companies involved. In addition, eight terminals shipped more than a thousand tons/hour per piece of equipment. It is an impressive number, achieved due to annual maintenance and port logistics intelligence. “This achievement,” emphasized the CEO, “is a testament to the effectiveness of our operations.”
Records for ports in Paraná – Paranaguá and Antonia
In addition to the expressive numbers in daily movement, the ports of Paranaguá and Antonina have registered eight consecutive records of monthly productivity, since August 2023. After all, the most recent, in March, handled 5,968,934 tons, an increase of 11% compared to 5,357,799 tons in 2023. In exports, the highlights go to soybean and sugar commodities, while, in imports, fertilizer is the busiest commodity.
