Spring season presents stability in business

Temporada de Primavera apresenta estabilidade nos negócios

Auctions held by Trajano Silva Remates exceed 13.8 million, maintaining 2015 numbers

Sales of bulls and bellies have once again been confirmed to be on the rise in this season of exhibitions, fairs and private auctions. In six auctions held during the spring livestock season in Rio Grande do Sul, Trajano Silva Remates achieved a result of R$ 13.82 million in revenue in events promoted by the auctioneer during the sales period in 2016.

The season's general numbers remained stable, as in 2015 the value of revenue from the shots carried out by Trajano Silva was also 13.8 million, showing that, despite the economic situation in the country, the beef cattle market has been proving itself firm. According to the auctioneer and director of Trajano Silva Remates, Marcelo Silva, the events held by the office received positive responses. “It was a good season overall. Our auctions had above average results”, he notes.

According to the forecast for the beginning of the sales period, Silva assesses that synthetic breeds, such as Brangus and Braford, were the highlights of the commercialization period of Rio Grande do Sul's livestock. Also highlighted, according to the specialist, was the high demand for genetics from breeders in Rio Grande do Sul by buyers from the center of the country. “It even sold more than in previous years. This is explained by the appreciation of the meat produced by these breeds that bring British blood”, he highlights.

A trend observed by the auctioneer was the inclusion of Criollo horse sales in most traditional beef cattle sales events. For the director of Trajano Silva Remates, the explanation is due to investment savings. “In order not to organize other events that would not justify the investment, the sellers decided to take advantage of the space”, he states.
