Representatives from 3tentos met this Thursday (14) with the governor of Mato Grosso, Mauro Mendes, and his deputy, Otaviano Pivetta, to detail the company's expansion plans in the state, which foresees a new ethanol industry from corn and DDG (animal feed) in Porto Alegre do Norte (MT), with an investment of R$ 1 billion. The meeting took place at Palácio Paiaguás and was also attended by the mayor of Porto Alegre do Alto, Daniel Lago.
According to the CEO of 3tentos, Luiz Osório Dumoncel, the decision to expand to Vale do Araguaia was motivated by the development in which the region finds itself today. Currently, 3tentos has a soybean processing factory in Vera (MT), in the BR 163 region, which began operating in July last year and eight stores.
“There is a combination between productive potential, the professional profile of livestock farmers, who increasingly invest in technology and logistics for favorable flow, with BR 158”, commented Dumoncel.
Boost to development: New corn ethanol industry and jobs in Mato Grosso
The start of operations for the corn ethanol industry is scheduled for 2026, with a daily processing capacity of 2,100 tons of corn. Furthermore, the production estimate is 935 m³/day of ethanol and 587 tons/day of DDG. Furthermore, together with the industry, the company will also invest in input stores and warehouses to receive grains. Therefore, the projects must generate 500 direct jobs. It is also expected to employ 3 thousand people during the construction of the plant.
Currently, 3tentos already has around 500 employees in Mato Grosso, including permanent employees, apprentices, interns and temporary workers.
“The Government created a development model in the State based on a democratic productive ecosystem, which guaranteed legal security and improvements in our infrastructure and logistics. This gave confidence to entrepreneurs and industrial investors to bring important financial contributions to Mato Grosso”, stated governor Mauro Mendes.
In 2023, Mato Grosso led the national ranking of corn ethanol production. They produced 4.4 billion liters, which represents 73% of all production in the country. The forecast is that the next harvest will exceed this quantity.
