Global commodities exchange ACX has launched a physical biofuels trading platform in Abu Dhabi. Part of the ACX Group, the company's ACXBiofuels physical trading platform will cover the trading of fatty acid methyl esters (FAME), rapeseed methyl esters (RME), used cooking oil (UCOME), hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO), palm oil methyl esters (PME) and sustainable aviation fuel (SAG), as announced by ACX on November 28.
The company said it was also introducing a global contract for key raw materials, including used cooking oil (UCO) and palm oil mill effluent (POME).
William Pazos, the company's co-founder and co-CEO, envisions the company's line of biofuels promoting global price transparency. All participants at ACX will be certified by the ISCC program, strengthening awareness.
Henri-Jean Bardon, director of ACX's Biofuels Platform, highlighted that he aligned all contracts with the usual physical contracts widely negotiated in the market.
“Bardon added that he will adjust some of the contracts, especially FOB Northwest Europe, to existing products traded in windows, allowing for natural arbitrage.”
